The two plans differ in whose QuickBooks company the work is in. Lite works in Craig's Landscaping, Intuit's free Test Drive company, so students need no QuickBooks account. Standard adds chapters 9 and 11–16, where students build their own company file. That needs a QuickBooks Online account, but never a paid one.

What a locked chapter takes with it
Everything attached to it: the reading, the practice quiz, the chapter exam and the smart-graded uploads. And in every chapter, the Do It Yourself section at the end is Standard-only, so a Lite student's chapter stops just before it.
Teaching a class with both plans
- On Assignments, chapters outside Lite carry a Standard edition badge. Including one in your class never opens it for a Lite student.
- Keep required work inside chapters 1–8 plus two bonus chapters, and treat the Standard-only chapters as extra work.
- Or give every student a seat from your pool, so the whole class has the same plan. See How seats work.
- Completion only counts the chapters both plans share, so a mixed class isn't dragged down.
