Turn your demo into a real class

On your demo class, Use this for real starts a new, empty real class. Nothing moves across from the demo, and the demo stays where it is.

   Open your demo class

   It's the one marked Demo in the sidebar.

   Choose Use this for real

   It's in the class header.

   Name the class

   Only Classroom name is required. Pick one you'll keep, like Accounting 101, Fall 2026: you can't rename a class yourself yet.

   Add student emails, if you have them

   Optional. Paste one per line in Pre-stage student invitations.

   Choose Adopt this for my real class

   You land on your new class, with its own join code ready to share.

The instructor approval checkbox

The form can also request instructor approval (for the Instructor's Manual and teaching files). If you leave that ticked and fill in your school and course, the invitations you pasted wait, marked Awaiting approval, and go out on their own once you're approved. Your join code works straight away either way.
